The Housekeeper and the Professor ♥♥♥♥♥

This book was amazing in so many ways. A beautiful written japanese story by Yoko Ogawa. I enjoyed it so much. The characters were remarkable. This book tells you how life is connected with math/ numbers. The professor is a mathematician who always talk about numbers and the meaning of them. The Housekeeper was always amazed and admired of how a number can change your views on the whole subject of math. The professor is a man who has lost his memory and it only lasts 80 minutes. He writes notes and clips them on his suit to remember certain events and important dates. He, the housekeeper and her son, Root, who the professor gave the nickname to, get along very well together and create a strong bonding relationship and are there for one another. Truly touching story and doesn't matter if you don't like math, after reading this book, you will find math being a subject full of mystery and wonder and surprises.

5 out of 5 hearts.

  5. This was a lovely read...thanks to your suggestion I borrowed it from the library Saturday and read it in two sittings on Sunday. I lost interest in math in the 4th grade, but this book was able to rekindle a love for the mysteries of math that I once enjoyed as a little girl. ♥Thank you♥
